Mountains

Yes, you read it right. Although Bataan is a peninsula, it’s not a reason for it has not what you are searching for. Trekking? Hiking? Camping? Bataan can offer all of these for you.

Mt. Natib located at Orani, Bataan

One of the good example is Mt. Natib. Mt. Natib is a dormant volcano at Bataan. According to Wikipedia, this mountain has a total of 4, 111 ft in height. So if you want to hike or camp, just make sure to pack your things up and don’t forget to ask for guide assignments and reservations from the authorities near the mountain.

And if you’re not tired enough after a long trail, there’s a 10-minute walk from your campsite to reach an enchanting waterfall.

Pasukulan Falls is a waterfall with an elevation of 50 meters high. And if you are a fan of cold temperature, this is the right place for you to enjoy and expect the cold breeze of the water as it falls down. The sound of nature and the ambiance of a forest is satisfying, so if you have a plan to check this out, don’t let Pasukulan and Mt. Natib wait for you.

Mt. Tarak. One of  best and perfect place for mountaineers. This mountain became popular because of its unique beauty. Breathtaking landscapes and trail. From the starting point, you will notice that the view is like you have never seen before.

Too Boring?

I guess that these mountains, beaches, and resorts are not enough for you. I think you need a little bit of suspense. Suspense? For real? Yup, just like what I’d said earlier Bataan has everything you want. And if you want suspense, there are museums just for you!

If you had checked my previous post, Bataan is the province where the Death March was happened. In this museum you can see the past why we are now enjoying our lives. No chain on our hands and no guns in our front. A history which tells sufferings and sacrifices. Bataeños, Americans and Filipino, they all tasted their most dreadful experience. They marched thousand of kilometers, and starved because of hunger, dehydrated because of they’re exhaustiveness, and torture for those who cannot continue. They all experienced these situation in their lives just defend our country for liberty. Indeed a heartbreaking story.

A historical site? You’re definitely right. This Corregidor is an island near the entrance of Manila Bay. A historical island? Yes, Corregidor is a 6.5km x2.0km island where you can find weapons and buildings which were used by soldiers. An island which has lots of story.

This island has been fortified with coastal artillery to defend the entrance of Manila Bay and Manila from attacks by enemy warships, so you can find cannons used by soldiers to defend the largest and the most important seaport from past in the Philippines. But how can I go there? A good question, if you want to visit this historical island, you just need to ride a boat, and if you are from Manila, there’s no hassle for you as you can go to the Manila Bay Cruise.

These museums or historical sites are places where you can find why you and I are here and free to go everywhere we want, just like these places. Though its kind of boring place for some of you, these places have stories that can tell you. Stories which were different from other myths or legends, because these are the true reasons why we are here, living with freedom.

A parish which is the second to the most oldest church in the whole Philippines. It was built last 2012. Plaza Mayor de Ciudad de Balanga or Balanga City Plaza was just became a spot for everyone. This place is truly perfect! You can see different students, employees and even some typical visitors. The european-themed architecture of the The Plaza Hotel, Galleria Victoria and Balanga City Hall is one of the reason why there are so many people visiting Balanga City, so there’s no doubt this place is really a popular one. From an old plaza to a modernized one, Balanga City is really a good place for everyone. Shopping? Food Tripping? Dating? You can do it all here.

Exhausted from that plaza? St. Joseph Parish is always there for you. If you want a quiet and peace of mind, you can enter here and pray. It is near as it’s located in front of the plaza so it’s accesible for everyone.

Bird watching? Definitely this wetland is a place for you. A perfect location where you can chill out when you see mangroves and especially those migratory birds when “Ibong Dayo” Festival starts. So if you want to see those birds, just visit every November until March, so you will surely enjoy watching those birds flying from there to another country.

“A symbol of the Filipino courage and gallantry in the face of external trials to the nation’s democracy and peace – Bataan Tourism” Have a plan for a roadtrip? This symbolic sword is always waiting at Pilar. If you had once enter here in Pilar, you may recognized that this sword is only located at the center of the road in front of Pilar Municipality Hall. Just a piece of an advice, it’s in the middle of the road. Better to be safe.

One of the most popular sites here in Bataan is the Mt. Samat. This place is a shrine which represents the bravery of Filipino and American soldiers when they battle until death for our country. Every April, we are celebrating an event called “Araw Ng Kagitingan” for remembering the valor and honor of these soldiers who died protecting our beloved home.

Another beach? Pawikan Conservation Center is waiting for you. A place where you can see sea turtles while enjoying with the sea. Just set your tents up in the seashore while staying while listening to a relaxing sound of waves from the sea.

Speaking of friendship, this is a true symbolism of it. Filipino-Japanese? Exactly! Though we cannot ignore the unforgettable past between these two countries, friendship can truly settle all those horrible experiences between them. Truly a true representation of a long-lasting relationship that’s the symbol of this tower.

The place that will bring you back from old times. A century from our very own Dr. Jose P. Rizal. A perfect place where you can have  a good time mesmerizing the past.

Close enough? Maybe, I guess, but if you want to complete the tourist destinations here in Bataan, you must go here at Sisisman. Lighthouse? Yes this spot is no ordinary lighthouse, this place is a famous for it is a good place for photo shooting. Indeed stunning location for a visit.

Last destination? A cove-to-cove adventure. A place that will be the reason for you to come back in Bataan.
